Kumihimo is a fun way of making bracelets and necklaces, but many would not like to try Kumihimo braid because finishing it off is a question, “how?” Even, I, myself is still wondering how to perfectly and neatly finish off a Kumihimo braid.
The easiest way to end a Kumihimo braid is by simply tying a knot. Like what I did with my Kumihimo braid bracelet. I braided a few centimeters more after the beads, inserted the thread into a toggle clasp and then tied a knot. To prevent the ends from fraying, I slightly heated and burnt the ends. The extra beads at the ends are added embellishment which also hides and protects the thread.
I find this technique of ending a Kumihimo braid only suitable to toggle clasp and I wanted to use a variety of end caps. Using end caps gives that extra flair and beauty to a Kumihimo bracelet.
I am, yet, to experiment on how to use end caps when finishing off a Kumihimo braid. I am sure many of you would also like to try it so let’s altogether learn how to finish off a Kumihimo braid.
