Surprise everyone! Here’s a free earrings tutorial from Maria Arthur of TheBeadClubLounge! Maria is a regular Contributing Artist in DIY Jewelry Making Magazine and we’ve decided to share this earrings tutorial for making the Amira Earrings! Let’s start!
Thread your needle with 1 yard of beading thread. String 1C, 1A, 1C, 1B, 1C, 1A, 1C, 1B until you have a total of 4A, 4B and 8C. You should begin with 1C and end with 1B.
Go through the first C strung to form a circle. Then, go through all the beads again to reinforce exiting 1A.
String 4C, 1D and 4C. Go through the A from the side opposite where your thread is exiting.
Note: This will form a loop around the A.
Pass through the next 1C, 1B, 1C and 1A.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you have added a seed bead loop around each A.
Exiting 1A, pass through 4C and 1D of the seed bead loop.
String 1B and pass through the D of the next seed bead loop.
Repeat Step 7 three more times.
Reinforce the beads just added in Steps 7 and 8. Exit 1D.
Go through the following 4C.
Go through the next 1A .
Repeat Steps 3-11 to add the seed bead and bicone embellishment to the back of the beadwork.
String 6C, 1D and an earring hook.
Go back through the 1D just strung.
String 6C and go through the A from the side opposite where the thread is exiting. Reinforce the earring hook.
Weave the thread into the beadwork, tie several half-hitch knots and remove the excess thread. Repeat all the steps to create the second earring. Your earrings are now complete!
